What's Happening @ The CAC
Throughout our 40th year, you will have plenty of opportunities to come and celebrate with us! We never pass up a chance to highlight the hard work and creativity our young artists and share our creative resources with the community. Below are some of our current and recent past events. Please check back regularly though - we are always on the move and add new events on a regular basis. Also, please visit The Gallery for images from workshops and CAC events.
Summer Photo/Print Workshop
FREE Photography & Printing Workshop

Photographer, Lenore Browne, has coordinated this wonderful 5 day photography and screen-printing workshop to be held at The Children's Art Carnival and Harlem Textile Works. This is a FREE workshop, for ages 11-14, being funded in part by the Harlem Community Arts Fund, a program of the Harlem Arts Alliance. Applications are being accepted July 1-30, 2010. Space is limited so you will want to SIGN UP NOW!

Join us for our 2010 End-of-Year Exhibit & Silent Auction Benefit. This event will showcase works created by the wonderful, young artists participating in our Spring Cycle programs. In addition, Children's Art Carnival Instructors and creative affiliates will be exhibiting art and other offerings through a Silent Auction; proceeds to benefit The Carnival's programs. Please join us in celebrating our awesome students, and support The Carnival by bidding on your favorite items!

The Children's Art Carnival is pleased to partner with CLIMB New York for Hike the Heights 6 on Saturday, June 5th! The day will consists of hike along the Giraffe Path, the Giraffe Parade, and a Potluck Party at the Highbridge Water Tower Terrace in Washington Heights, New York. The party will be complete with food, dancing, youth friendly art activities, and the "Reel Short Film Festival." Please join this fun effort, organized by CLIMB New York, to engage the community, celebrate our parks, and support the conservation of giraffes and the environments that house them. "Interpreting the African Mask" @ Clifford Chance U.S., LLP
Interpreting the African Mask: "Interpreting the African Mask" features multi-medium artwork created by the students participating in our Spring 2010 Creative Arts After School & Saturday and High School Internship programs. This exhibit has been curated by Jacob Robichaux on behalf of Clifford Chance U.S., LLP.

In this 2009 Summer Intensive, teen participants explored the critical social issues of their communities through three mediums: Photography as a lens to identify the problems in their communities: Poetry to express elements of change, and; Graffiti to inspire community upliftment.
